Midden
- A discard pile of unwanted parts during a process of separating biological or botanical parts. A midden can be a pile of clam shells, whale bones, manure, etc.
As it relates to mushroomery - It is a pile of discarded mushroom parts arising from a conscientious mushroomer cleaning and/or discarding cap & stem pieces that have dirt, bugs, larval tunnels, slime or god knows what else that are not keepworthy - .

Here is some midden from boletus mushrooms.
The stems were riddled with larvae tunnels so this midden consists of stem pieces only. Other times there may be cap parts as well.
