  • decurrent - referring to gill, pore or tooth attachment to stalk - when the hymenium ( the spore bearing surface, which could be gills, teeth or pores - depending on mushroom species ) is attached to the stalk and extends downward on it for a slight length.
  • deliquescing - referring to the decomposition of gills and caps in certain mushrooms - the process of autodigestion in which the gills, and sometimes the caps as well, turn into a liquid. The cause is due to an enzyme released within the mushroom.
  • denticulate / dentate - referring to the spore bearing surface of certain mushrooms - many teeth-like appendages hanging from the underside of the cap. As far as function is concerned - the teeth are synonymous to the gills in the Agarics ( gilled mushrooms ). Dentate therefore is - having teeth.
  • distant - referring to the proximity of the gills to each other. Far apart.

If you thought that worked pretty good try some others.
